The Fund for African Rural Innovation Promotion farip was launched in 2016 as a foundation by Ueli Scheuermeier and three donors for giving African small entrepreneurs the chance to show their business ideas can work, ie. in the pre-commercial phase until businessplans are available and investors can engage.



In 2017 Clive Lightfoot and Ueli Scheuermeier founded the new company mPEX International.

This internet service supports local entrepreneurs in Africa in learning how to operate commercial market access enterprises. These enterprises link small farmers with other key players in the market chain from producer to consumer in Fair Trade for all.
